What we provide

Coastal Food Safety Exams is an independent proctoring service. We proctor certification exams administered through Always Food Safe, an ANAB-accredited certification provider. We are not affiliated with the National Restaurant Association or ServSafe.

Booking and payment

Submitting the registration form is a request. Your registration is confirmed when we email your course access and personal exam link. The food manager certification is $149 per person and the food handler card is $19 per person. Payment is due before your course access is issued. Group registrations are invoiced.

Retakes

Each food manager booking includes one retake at no cost, available within 60 days of the first attempt. A third attempt is $49 and may be taken no sooner than 24 hours after the second.

Interrupted attempts and refunds

There is no appointment to reschedule: your exam link stays open until you use it. If a technical failure on our side or the provider's side prevents you from completing an attempt, we reopen your exam at no charge. Fees are refundable in full until the course or exam is accessed; after that the fee is non-refundable.

Your responsibilities during the exam

You must meet the published system requirements, test alone in a private room, present valid government-issued photo ID matching your registration name, and keep your camera and microphone on for the full exam. Notes, phones, second monitors, and outside assistance are not permitted. An attempt may be ended for suspected misconduct, and the certification provider may void the result.

Certificate delivery

Your score is shown on screen as soon as you finish. Your certificate and wallet card are emailed within 24 hours of passing, to the email address you provide.

Acceptance of the certification

The certification is ANAB-accredited and recognized by health departments across the United States, but acceptance is determined by your state and local health authority. Confirm the requirement with your health department before booking. We do not guarantee acceptance in a specific jurisdiction.

Limitation of liability

Our liability for any claim relating to a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost wages, missed inspections, or employment decisions.
